Welcome to Bella Vita! Our lodge was founded in Olympia in 1973, and is one of several lodges in the northwest all part of the Order Sons of Italy Grand Lodge Northwest, and part of the larger national organization Order Sons of Italy in America.
Women constitute more than 50 percent (50%) of OSIA's membership. Why, then, is our name "Sons of Italy" rather than "Sons and Daughters of Italy?" Because of our history.
OSIA was founded in 1905 as "L'Ordine Figli d'Italia," which is Italian for "The Order Children of Italy." The name was translated into English in the masculine form (Figli also means sons), and has been preserved as such for name recognition and legacy purposes.
People of Italian descent whole or partial, spouses of people of Italian descent or anyone interested in the Italian culture and heritage can join as a social member. Guests are always welcome!
Join us for an Italian meal once a month. It's a good way to meet new friends and chat about Italian heritage and/or experiences.
Read the personal histories of some of our members and their ancestors. Italian immigration stories, enduring war-torn Italy during World War II as a child, and much more.
